Jamu is a Javanese herbal beverage. It is a concoction of vegetables and, at times, fruits into one drink. It tastes like a medicine, but it has been proven, as the best ingredient for health and longevity since ancient times. Today, we still have the Jamu seller. Usually, they are women with their big baskets full of bottles behind their backs. The Jamu is no longer popular in urban areas due to its taste, but the image of women selling it in the marketplace is immortalised by many, including Sigit Handari.
