Gracia Orah

80x100 cm
Oil on canvas

Leonardo da Vinci (right) visited Basquiat (left). The two talked, and Basquiat introduced modern art developments. Some people find abstract art boring because most people continue to think that a good painting should look realistic. This piece of art shows two talented artists from different eras who made quite distinct art styles but can converse and exchange ideas without competing. Gracia tried to portray Leonardo with realism because he is known as a Renaissance painter. She chose lighter colours to make Basquiat stands out more. It is visible that in this painting, Leonardo is the guest, while Basquiat is the host.
